Chiefs and Queenmothers in Assin South declare support for NDC Some chiefs and queenmothers in the Assin South Constituency in the Central Region, have announced their support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming December 7 general elections. During a community durbar at Assin Engresi on Tuesday, the chiefs, including the Chief of Assin Darmang and the Krontihene of Assin Engresi endorsed the NDC. This event was part of a three-day campaign tour of the Central Region by the party's running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang. Nana Kwabena Waadie, the Krontihene of Assin Engresi, praised past NDC governments for delivering a hospital, a market, and other development projects to the community. He was hopeful that the NDC would win the 2024 general elections to continue from where the party left off. The chief of Assin Darmang, Okofo Kwadwo Benti, praised Prof. Opoku- Agyemang for being a mother and a scholar who would give the Flagbearer of NDC, Mr John Dramani Mahama, the needed support to take Ghana to the promised land. He expressed his strong support for Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, noting that women are excellent managers of the home and commending the NDC flagbearer for selecting her as his running mate. Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, the NDC running mate, thanked the chiefs and queenmothers for their endorsement and assured them that the NDC would continue to prioritize the development of the area. She stated that the next NDC administration will focus on job creation through a 24-hour economy and the National Apprenticeship Programme, as well as drive significant infrastructure development through the Big Push. Prof. Opoku-Agyemang urged voters to support change by electing Mr. John Dramani Mahama to improve conditions for all Ghanaians.
