CHEDDAR TO CONTEST AS AN INDEPENDENT PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE AFTER DELAYS IN SECURING APPROVAL FROM EC

The leader of the New Force Movement, Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly know as “Cheddar” says he will be contesting the 2024 presidential elections which comes off in December, as an independent candidate.

According to him, he had to come to this decision as result of delays in receiving the needed approval to his application to register his movement as a political party.

Although being given a provisional certificate by the EC, he believes the successive procedures as stipulated by the EC would not allow his party to contest in the 2024 elections. Narrating the difficulties during the registration processes, Nana Kwame Bediako, said his team had to write to the EC several times to inquire of the development on his application. It took about eight months after the application before the New Force team received a response from the EC, Nana Bediako narrated during a press conference on Friday, 12th of July, 2024.

Despite the delays, Nana Kwame Bediako says he’ll not be perturbed and will present himself as an independent candidate come December, 2024.
He says, he knows there will be attempts, as experienced previously in other elections in Ghana, not to allow him be on the ballot.

Nana Kwame Bediako says he’ll fight to the end and ensure he appears on the ballot. He has, however, charged Ghanaians to rally behind him to change the course of Ghana’s fate. According to Mr. Bediako, he only has the capacity to bring about the long desired change majority of Ghanaians have been yearning for.
