Former Ghana international Charles Sampson has been named the new head coach of the Black Princesses, Ghana’s U-20 women’s national team.
Sampson succeeds Yussif Basigi, who guided the team during the last FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. The 44-year-old steps into the role after serving as an assistant coach for the Black Queens.
Sampson’s coaching journey began with Sweden’s Assyriska United Girls U15 team before managing Telge United FC in the Swedish Women’s League.
Joining him on the technical bench is Fiifi Parker Hanson, head coach of Golden Kicks, while Anita Wiredu retains her position as assistant coach.
The immediate task for the new technical team is to prepare the Black Princesses for the 2025 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
