Two people are believed to have died with many others injured after three vehicles rammed into each other in a tragic accident at Gomoa Otsew on the Winneba-Cape Coast highway in the Central Region.
The accident involved a Kia truck with registration number GW 8308-21, a Honda pilot 4×4 with registration number DE- 3440-13 and a Sprinter Benz Bus registered GW 5064-24.
According to the Apam District Fire Service Commander DO2 Anthony Kwasi Rhule, the collision occurred when the Honda pilot decided to overtake the Kia truck but collided head-on with the sprinter Benz.
“Due to the degree of injuries sustained by passengers of the vehicles, two people are believed to have passed away.
However, the Collision could have been prevented if the Honda driver would have exercised patience when overtaking the Kia”, he added.
The victims have been sent to the Winneba Trauma and specialist Hospital for treatment.
