The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has postponed the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers scheduled for June.
The postponement is as a result of the challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic on the continent a statement from CAF indicated.
The World Cup qualifiers were set to begin in June 2021 but have now been rescheduled to kick off in September.
A statement from CAF read:
Ghana are in a 2022 World Cup qualifying group with South Africa, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia, and only the team finishing first advances to the final elimination phase.
The Black Stars were supposed to play their opening game against Ethiopia in June at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
