CAF Confederation Cup: Hearts of Oak can defeat Real Bamako to qualify – Daniel Quaye

Former Accra Hearts of Oak defender, Daniel Quaye is optimistic the Phobians can defeat As Real Bamako and qualify in the Second leg of their CAF Confederations Cup tie.

Hearts of Oak suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Malian side As Real Bamako in the first leg of the second of the CAF inter-club competition in Mali last Saturday.

Speaking in an interview on Happy FM, the former Hearts of Oak defender reiterated the fact that, the Phobians have once overturned an impossible tie and history can recur only if the players are motivated and have a strong mentality.
“For now, all hope looks lost, and the best the players can do for themselves is psych their minds and be motivated mentally because these are the same players who were defeated in the first leg.

“ I know the management of the club would also play their part for these players to be motivated”.

“This has happened before so it can still happen”.He told Ohene Bampoe Brenya on Happy Sports.
“We would attest to the fact that the quality in our league now is low as compared to back in the days. We were seen as national assets and we had experienced coaches who were once good players so we listened to them.

“There are some players in the team who haven’t pulled weights and needs to be accessed other than always sacking coaches”. He added.
