CAA Regional II Championship gold medalist Kennedy Ocansey speaks after failing to qualify for Olympics

Ghanaian high jumper, Kennedy Ocansey has spoken about his inability to qualify at the 2024 Olympics Games in Paris despite winning gold in the just ended CAA Regional Championship at the Legon Sports Stadium.

Kennedy Ocansey secured the gold by setting a personal record and in the competition at large with a 2.18 jump finished in the finals.

Speaking to Happy Sports after the competition, Kennedy spoke about how happy he is to have set a personal record but added that the ultimate for him is to qualify to the Olympics Games.

“Today I did a personal best of 2.18m and I’m happy about what I was able to do today. I will train hard to be able to bounce back.”

“The result wasn’t the best to get me to the Olympics here but I won’t give up because I want my season to end at the Olympics Games,” Kennedy Ocansey told Happy Sports.
