Central Regional Deputy director of TVET, Emmanuel Justice Kofi Boadu has asserted that only 15 students were hospitalized over the alleged food Poisoning at Adjumako Afranse technical and vocational institute.According to him, the education directorate went to the Salvation Army Polyclinic where the students were admitted and was told that some students were suffering from food poisoning and others had malaria. Eight out of the Fifteen were discharged yesterday, seven are yet to be discharged due to their situation.Mr Boadu commended the efforts of the School authorities and the Police for handling the situation even before the arrival of the Regional Directorate.Moreover, it is not the food that the school provides that caused the problem but rather waakye from some food vendors on campus.He assured parents that the situation is under control, investigations are being conducted and measures have been put in place to prevent such incidents in future.It was reported that over 30 students from Ajumako Afranse technical and vocational institute in the Central Region’s of the Ajumako Enyam Essiam District have been hospitalized after allegedly consuming contaminated food on Tuesday, 11 June 2024.
