Brong Ahafo RFA Chairmanship: Previous Administration failed to render accounts of Its doings - Aspirant Emmanuel Nyamekye

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kwabre United FC, Emmanuel Nyamekye , who announced his desire to compete for the coveted position of Chairman of the Brong Ahafo Regional Football Association (RFA) has criticized the lack of accountability under the previous administration.

Speaking exclusively to Wamputu Sports, Nyamekye outlined his vision for the region’s football.

“It’s the truth; I have decided to contest for the position of the Brong Ahafo RFA Chairman because I want to see the region move forward,” Nyamekye affirmed passionately. He emphasized the unique composition of the region, comprising three vital segments: the Bono East, Bono, and Ahafo regions. “This is the largest region in the association, uniting three diverse regions under one footballing umbrella,” he stated, underlining the significance of their collective potential.

One of Nyamekye’s foremost concerns lies in addressing the absence of transparency and accountability in the previous administration. He voiced his dissatisfaction, pointing out, “The incumbent never rendered accounts of its doings, and as a result, the region has fallen behind.” This lack of accountability extended beyond administrative circles, as Nyamekye further highlighted that “there had been no accountability by club owners and CEOs in the region.”

Nyamekye also delved into the struggles faced by local clubs in securing sponsorships, which has hindered their growth and potential. “Most clubs also struggle to earn sponsorships, and one project I’m keen on is helping these clubs get the needed support,” he disclosed. This commitment to fostering a supportive environment for local clubs reflects his dedication to cultivating a vibrant footballing culture within the region.

Renowned sports broadcaster and seasoned football administrator, Dickson Kyere-Duah, known affectionately as Kwabena Kyere Stugard, has also declared his intention to vie for the Brong Ahafo RFA Chairman position.

As the Ghana Football Association prepares for its general elections in October this year, the race for the presidency has become a closely watched affair, with positions like the Brong Ahafo RFA Chairmanship drawing significant attention.
