Sir Alex Ferguson is set to return to the Old Trafford dugout to manage Manchester United’s 1999 Treble winners in a repeat of the Champions League final against Bayern Munich, according to The Sun.
The club are trying to organise a rematch between both the United and Bayern sides who contested that dramatic final in the Nou Camp.
Sir Alex has been asked about managing the United side and he said he is keen to do so as long as his health allows him to. Ferguson, 77, suffered a brain haemorrhage last May but returned to his seat in the Old Trafford directors’ box in September and has been a regular at games ever since.
Over the festive period he also accepted an invitation from caretaker boss Ole Solskjaer to visit the Carrington Training Ground and address the players.
