African boxing legend, Professor Azumah Nelson has waded into what caused Isaac Dogboe to lose his WBO Super Bantamweight title bout against Mexican Emanuel Navarrete in the United States over the weekend.
In defending his title for the second time, Isaac Dogboe was not at his best as he is normally known as he lost on unanimous decision after 12 rounds to Emanuel Navarrete at the Madison Square Garden in New York.
Professor Azumah Nelson, who is a one-time WBC Featherweight champion and two time WBC Super Featherweight weight champion speaking on Happy FM’ s Wamputu Sports , opined that the strategy deployed by team Dogboe on the night was not the best and that caused his defeat.
“The strategy they employed on the day was not the best. They have to go back to the drawing board and correct all their mistakes, prepare properly and try a shot at the title again,” he said.
He further explained that losing the bout should not be the end but it should be a learning curve for Isaac Dogboe and he must learn from it and come back a stronger and better boxer.
Isaac Dogboe until this loss had won all his previous twenty fights, with fourteen coming via knock-outs.
