Versatile Ghanaian actress and musician, Kisa Gbekle has once again voiced her opinion on the surging trend of body-enhancement surgeries among women.
In an interview on Happy 98.9FM’s ‘Happy Evening Drive,’ she admonished women not to perform body-enhancement surgeries due to its life-threatening nature. She argued that the exceptional case which would warrant the surgery was the case where a woman had undergone a Caesarean section.
“If I say I am encouraging people, I will be sending them to a death trap. I would not encourage people to do this unless you are a mother. If you are a chubby person and you have a baby through caesarean section, you will definitely get a flappy skin on your stomach. If that is the problem you could do it,” she told Akua Sika, host of Happy 98.9FM’s ‘Happy Evening Drive’.
The actress also stressed on the need to get the right doctor in order for women not to experience botched surgeries. “It is deadly if you don’t go to the right doctor. If it must be done, it must be done correctly or else you will die” she cautioned.
The musician disclosed that she performed a mummy makeover to correct her physique because she had given birth. She explained what mummy makeover was all about saying “When every woman has a baby, your diastasis recti opens. It is a muscle in the tummy. So when a woman gets pregnant the belly opens up. When it opens, you cannot achieve a flat tummy unless that muscle is repaired. “
“It can be repaired through exercising. If you are a fat person, you can close it but you cannot achieve a flat tummy because you will still have excess skin. Even if you close it, you still cannot get you skin snatched. That’s what I did ,they had to repair the diastasis recti and take off the exercise skin,” she added.
The actress declared how proud she was to make a difference in the lives of women by sharing her cosmetic surgery journey adding that the negativity does not deter her from helping her fellow women.
She further admonished women to do a thorough research into their body enhancement surgeries and the doctors they go to before taking the bold step because it is dangerous.
