The Hon. Minister of Energy Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh inaugurated the newly constituted board of TOR yesterday at the refinery’s premises.
He tasked them to work as a team and cooperate with each other and management to be proactive and innovative in seeking strategic partnerships to ensure TOR’s viability.
He stressed that, the new board should be tactical enough to ensure that there is a conducive working environment to improve upon the relationship between the board and management as well as unions.
“It is in our collective interest as a nation for TOR to be fully operational especially at this time and more especially when we have our own discovery” he reiterated.
In his response, Mr. David Kwame Tandoh Adomako chairman of the board agreed to all Dr. Prempeh said and assured him of their full commitment to manage the facility just as any private individual will manage his personal business and leave TOR better than they met it.
Concluding, the Hon. Minister added that, TOR is an important national asset that must be protected.
“I believe its transformation lies in individual hearts and minds. I am confident that with the collective input of all stakeholders we can empower TOR to play itsvital role in our economic development. I am clear in my mind that with the diverse expertise represented on this Board, you will deliver. I once again want to assure you of my support as sector Minister as we embark on this journey together.”
The board is made up of Mr. David Kwame Tandoh Adomakoh (Chairman), and members Mr. Jerry Kofi Hinson(MD), Nana Akua Bakoma Prempeh, Hon. Prince Hamidu Armah, Prof. Albert Ahenkan, Mrs. Edith Sapara-Grant, Mr. Kamal-Deen Abdulai, Mr. Leon Kendon Appenteng, Madam Irene sei Bonsu
