Members of the Black Stars Technical team were involved in a road accident earlier today on the Tarkwa -Tarkoradi Highway.
A Land Cruiser vehicle carrying Head Coach Otto Addo, Assistant Coach John Paintsil and Goalkeepers Trainer Fatawu Dauda with registration number GR 6521-21 avoided a head-on collision with a pickup truck which veered off into it’s lane causing damage to the vehicle.
A statement from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) indicates that the team was returning from Tarkwa after an official assignment to observe the Champion of Champions clash between FC Sarmartex 1996 and Nsoatreman FC.
“We are happy to report to the general public that all the three members of the technical team are in stable condition and will undergo further medical assessments as a precautionary measure upon their return to Accra”, part of the statement said.
“We are confident that the technical team will be in good shape and ready to lead the Black Stars in the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger”.
The statement signed by the Communications Department of Ghana Football Association asked for support and prayers for the team as they prepare for the match against Angola and Niger.
