The Senior women’s team of Ghana, the Black Queens today beat Mali at the Stade Robert-Champroux to win Bronze medals in the Wafu Zone B women’s tournament.
After 90 minutes of fruitless efforts from both sides, center referee Patience Madu N’didi whistled for penalty kicks.
Police Officer and captain of Black Queens, Fafali Dumehasi made a crucial last kick save to give the Queens a bronze as consolation. She save came just in time after both sides were on a 7:7 tie.
Fafali has maintained a clean sheet in all five games played at the tournament conceding only during penalty kicks.
Hasaacas Ladies Janet Ama Egyir was adjudged the Most Valuable Player of the match.
