Coach Ussif Basigi has expressed confidence about the Black Queens’ chances in the upcoming 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Coach Basigi in an interview on Happy FM, commended Coach Nora Hauptle for assembling a highly competitive team, highlighting their successful qualification after a five-year hiatus.
“The Queens can win the 2024 WAFCON; it is still early days but it is possible,” he added.
Ghana’s national women’s football team, the Black Queens, secured their coveted spot in the WAFCON after staging a remarkable comeback against Namibia.
The first leg, played at the Accra Sports Stadium, ended in a 3-1 victory for the Black Queens.
Despite a 1-0 defeat in today’s clash, the aggregate score of 3-2 secured Ghana’s place in the tournament.
This marks the Black Queens’ return to the competition after a five-year absence.
