The Ghana U20 Women’s national team, the Black Princesses have secured qualification for the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
This follows a heavy 7-1 aggregate win over their counterparts in Senegal.
The first leg of the final round of the African qualifiers between Ghana and Senegal was played last weekend.
In a game hosted by Senegal, the Black Princesses dominated the play and secured a 2-0 win at the end of the 90 minutes.
Yesterday, the Ghana U20 Women’s national team hosted the second leg of the tie at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Although Senegal scored to open the scoring in the fourth minute, it could not inspire a comeback to turn the tie around.
A brace from Berlin Nyarkoh and goals from Maafia Nyame, Tracey Twum, and Salamatu Abdulai propelled the Black Princesses to come from behind to secure a 5-1 win.
Together with the result from the first leg, Ghana has qualified for the U20 Women’s World Cup for the seventh time after a 7-1 aggregate victory over Senegal.
