Black Princesses beat Ethiopia to qualify for U-20 Women’s World Cup

The Black Princesses of Ghana have secured qualification to the FIFA U-20 World Cup to be staged in Costa Rica this year.

The national U-20 Women’s team secured a 5-2 aggregate scoreline against Ethiopia to book a place in the tournament.

Salamatu Abdulai scored the opening goal of the game in the second minute to give the Princesses the lead.

Abdulai scored her second goal of the game in the 25th minute to extend the lead for the Black Princesses. She was assisted by Cecilia Nyame in the build up to the goal.

The Ethiopian reduced the deficit before the half time break from a set piece as the goal scorer connected in a cross into the net.

Ghanaian goalkeeper Cynthia Fiindib Konlan was shown the exit after getting a red card.

The Black Princesses held onto the lead to secure the win and book a ticket to the U-20 Women’s World Cup.

The tournament will come off in August 2022.
