Ghana’s Black Galaxies have embarked on a journey to Togo as part of their preparations for the upcoming CHAN qualifiers against Nigeria.
The team, consisting of over 25 players, is scheduled to play a friendly match against a yet-to-be-revealed opponent in the coming days. This forms a key part of their build-up to the crucial encounters later this month.
Under the guidance of coach Didi Dramani, the Black Galaxies have been in fine form, recently recording consecutive victories against Nania FC and Northern City in preparatory matches held at the GFA Technical Centre.
Ghana and Nigeria have a storied rivalry in CHAN qualifiers. The Black Galaxies edged past their West African neighbors in the last edition, triumphing on penalties to book their spot in the tournament.
They now aim to replicate that success, with the first leg of the qualifiers scheduled for December 20-22, 2024, in Ghana, and the return leg set for December 27-29, 2024, in Nigeria.
Nigeria, notably absent from the last two editions of the CHAN tournament, will be determined to make their return.
Meanwhile, the winner of this two-legged clash will secure a coveted place in the 2024 CHAN tournament, which will be hosted across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania next year.
