Market women at Berekum Rawlings Park Market have honored Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the National Democratic Congress’ vice presidential candidate, by installing her as market queen mother. This gesture recognizes her tireless advocacy for women’s empowerment, particularly market women’s progress.
Deputy Market Queen Mother Madam Fati Bintu praised Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s dedication to women’s causes, expressing optimism that an NDC government would construct an ultra-modern market for traders.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, on her Bono Region campaign tour, thanked the market women for acknowledging her commitment. She outlined the NDC’s plans to establish a Women’s Development Bank, providing loans for market women to expand businesses and enhance financial stability.
Additionally, the NDC promises to renovate the Rawlings Park market, currently in disrepair. Prof. Opoku-Agyemang urged market women to support NDC presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama in the December 7 elections.
