Bechem United defeat Hearts of oak to boost title hopes

Hafiz Wontah Konkoni’s penalty spurred Bechem United to an important 1-0 win over Hearts of Oak in an epic GPL week 27 clash at the Ohene Gyan Stadium. 
The Hunter’s first free kick on the 4th minute swung in by Kwadwo Seth but was checked by the visitors backline.
Bechem United given a penalty on the 21st minute after Clinton Duodu was fouled in the box after receiving a beautiful pass from Seth Kwadwo. 
 
Hafiz Wontah Konkoni stepped up and converted neatly to hand the hosts the lead.
 
Coach David Ocloo was given the marching orders on the 33rd minute after a misunderstanding with referee Joseph Animakwaw. 
 
Hearts of Oak came so close to getting the equalizer after Isaac Mensah connected a towering header but his effort couldn’t trouble the goalie.
 
In the second half, Emmanuel Avornyo with a huge opportunity to double the homester’s lead but his effort was saved by Eric Ofori Antwi. 
 
Amankwah Baafi drove the ‘Phobians’ in attack and nearly caused a trouble but was fouled for a wasted free kick. 
 
Eric Ofori Antwi continued with his heroics after producing three huge stops on the 64th, 81st and 84th respectively to deny the visitors from getting their second.
 
It ended 1-0 after full time for the host who have now moved to the second position with 44 points.
