Executive Member of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Alhaji Towfick, has said in an interview on Happy FM that Braimah Isaac Kamoko also known as Bukom Banku must be disciplined if he wants to be world champion in his boxing carrier.
Speaking to Ohene Brenya on Anopa Bosuo Sports, Towfick revealed that “GBA wasn’t aware of Bukom Banku’s bout. We knew nothing about it. There are two types of fights. There’s a record fight and a non-record fight. This fight is not a record fight.”
The self-acclaimed “African Mayweather” after dropping his German opponent, Rojhat Bilgetekin, in round three, at St George Hall in Bradford, UK, Saturday night, to win his first fight outside Ghana says he wants to focus on relaunching his boxing career and wants to be a world champion following his first win abroad.
But according to Towfick, “It will take Bukom Banku a long time before he can become a world champion; he must respect himself, be disciplined and take his training seriously because he used less than just two weeks to train for this bout. He is lucky because he and his opponents were not fit and prepared for his bout.”
Bukom Banku had lost only once to Bastie Samir in their bout at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Ghana.
