Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s initiative to introduce electric buses to Ghana aims to transform the transportation sector and significantly lower commuting costs.

Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), has announced that the new electric buses, currently en route to Ghana, are expected to reduce transportation expenses by up to 40%.

This initiative aligns with government’s broader vision of promoting sustainable transportation solutions while tackling traffic congestion and pollution.

The NEIP CEO highlighted that the electric buses will not only enhance public transportation efficiency but also contribute to a cleaner, greener environment in urban areas.

In addition to cost savings, these buses are designed to improve the overall commuting experience for passengers.

With modern amenities and lower noise levels compared to traditional diesel buses, they will offer a more comfortable and eco-friendly alternative for daily travelers.

“Dr Bawumia’s Electric Buses will be in by this month’s ending. No fuel cost, low maintenance. Public transport fares are to be reduced by about 40%”he said.
