President-elect John Dramani Mahama has declared resolving the ongoing conflict in Bawku, Upper East Region, as a top priority for his administration upon taking office.
According to him, Bawku is a sensitive community because the areas surrounding the community are external terrorist threats, which need to be tackled.
‘’We will look at how we can calm the issue. Bawku is particularly sensitive because of the external terrorist threats’’.
Mr. Mahama promised to tackle the security issues around the area and also resolve the issues ongoing.
‘’One of the things we are going to do is to look at that as quickly as possible”.
He added that, “Bawku is going to be one of the major issues we will confront, we have managed to maintain the peace until this government came along and some security lapses led to what has happened’’.
