Bawaw Abudu is a Ghanaian musician from Tamale based in Germany since 1980. First came home in 1990 with the Debut Album ‘Bisa Na Baki’ from which songs like ‘Mai Bara’, ‘Nkrumah’, ‘Jah Tamakai Mu’ and When will this suddenly become huge hits on Ghana radio. These songs for years dominated airwaves of the then only two radio stations in Ghana GBC1, GBC2 and Greater Accra Fm. He went on to appear on GTV for programmes such as Music Spectacular etc with the songs.
In 2003 signed up with Germany’s top International Record company BMG Berlin. Debut international Single release of the song: ‘AYAMAYOTO’ appeared on German National TV channels ” ZDF “WDR” Deutsche Welle and obtained attention by the European Press Agencies.
Visited Ghana 2005 with the German Television Crew to shoot a documentary on his life. During the visit, he met with the then President of Ghana Musicians Union Alhaji Sidiki Buari who shared his views on the Ghanaian musician in the documentary film.
He later gave a press conference and paid a courtesy call on Professor Hagan and Mr Obetsebe Lamtey ministers of Culture and City Development respectively. He also appeared on Metro Tv for the program “Morning Ride” for an exclusive interview.
2008 signed up with Universal Music Germany and the Album ‘Fura da Madara’ was published on an international label.
2011 signed up with Emi Music Hamburg with the film track song ‘African Heritage’.
2014 wrote the release of the single “Ghana black stars” for the Brazil world football contest. Appeared on German National TV ‘ZDF’ for Ghana with the song and received massive attention in the international press as can be seen on the internet.
October 2018 was Awarded with the Agravis Golden Bull Award in the German city of Muenster where he has been based since 1980.
Now back home again with his latest Single from the Mothership Music Label in Germany entitled ‘Rasan Wayo’
