President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has by Executive Instrument, extended by three weeks, the ban on the public and social gathering until May 31st, 2020.
Speaking in a televised address to the nation, he said 494 patients have so far recovered with the death toll still standing at 22.
President Akufo-Addo said five persons are critically ill.
President Akufo-Addo announced this in his ninth address since the outbreak of the disease in Ghana.
In his last address, he said the Covid-19 pandemic has woefully exposed Ghana’s fragile health system.
In response, President Akufo-Addo said the next one year will see a revamping of the health sector with some new hospitals to be built in regions and districts across the country.
