Ayew brothers still committed to Black Stars – Spokesperson debunks quit reports

The Spokesperson of the Ayew family, Fiifi Tackie, has debunked reports that Andre and Jordan Ayew have quit the Black Stars.

Reports went rife on Wednesday evening that the Black Stars captain and his younger brother have decided to stop playing for the national team.

However, Mr Tackie took to his social media pages to deny such claims, insisting he just spoke to the brothers on phone.

“Andrè and Jordan Ayew are still very committed to the Black Stars team as they have always been. They will keep donning the Black Stars jersey to represent Ghana and give the team their very best on and off the pitch, as always. We just got off the phone,” he wrote.

Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew, like the rest of their Black Stars teammates have come under intense pressure following Ghana’s early AFCON exit.

Meanwhile, the two have had the most of criticisms with many pointing fingers at them for Ghana’s disastrous showing.

Andre Ayew will miss Ghana’s World Cup play-offs against Nigeria in March, after seeing red in the Black Stars’ final game against Comoros.
