The Director for the Centre for Defence and Security, Mr. Yaro Kasambata has said in an interview on the “Epahoa Daben” with Nana Afrifa Mensah that African Union leaders have not done well in fostering unity in Africa.
He explained that the African Union leaders have done less in curbing terrorism, violence and trans-border crimes in the African continent. He ascribes these happenings to the leaders’ “years of inaction and insufficient progress.’’
He added that the African people have shifted their focus and belief in the African Union (AU) leaders. He cautions that if nothing is done about this trend, people will no longer heed to the AU’s warnings to stop violence and crimes.
According to him, we have enormous resources in the various African countries that we can tap into without seeking greener pastures in another country.
