Happy Sports has gathered that players of AshantiGold Sporting Club have agreed to a pay cut to aid the club’s finances as football has been brought to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The President of AshantiGold Dr Kwaku Frimpong consulted with the playing body as they agreed to a 25 percent pay cut during this period of no football activities.
The pay cut will not affect the normal SSNIT contributions of the players, Happy Sports understands.
The Obuasi-based club becomes the first side to agree to a pay cut amid the difficult times clubs are going through due to the suspension of the Ghana Premier league.
