Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has announced that, the Ashanti Region is set to become a key power generation hub with the imminent completion of critical energy projects set to deliver an approximately 700 megawatts of electricity.
In his address to the media during a familiarization tour to the region, Jinapor emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to stabilizing the region’s power supply, while acknowledging the need for continuous improvement.
“The supply situation has been stable, and we are able to export some excess amount of power. But there is still more work to be done”
“Beyond generating the power, you have to evacuate it, you have to transmit it, and you have to distribute it. And so we are working around the clock to ensure that we address this challenge and ultimately ensure that we have a very reliable supply and delivery of power.”
