Hasaacas Ladies head coach, Yusif Basigi, says his toughest opponent in the just ended CAF Women’s Champions League was against ASFAR of Morocco.
The Ghanaian champions faced the Moroccan club in the semifinals stage winning the tie 2-1 to progress to the finals.
Despite winning the game, Coach Yusif Basigi said the opponents were too strong for his team as his players had to overwork to get the victory.
He mentioned that ASFAR were much stronger than champions Mamelodi Sundowns despite losing to the South African club in the finals.
“My toughest opponent in the competition was ASFAR of Morocco and not even Mamelodi Sundowns”,he told Joe Debrah in an interview on Wamputu Sports on Happy 98.9FM.
“They made realize they have gone far in women’s football. If we met Mamelodi Sundowns in the semifinal. I am sure we would have beaten them.
“ASFAR really stretched us in the semifinals so we had to overwork for the win. The following day the players were very tired and didn’t even attend the breakfast. The motivation for the players was for them to get to the finals and make Ghanaians happy”, he added.
