Asante Kotoko policy analyst, Dr. Yaw Amo Sarpong has taken a swipe at Hearts of Oak following his outfit’s commanding victory over Inter Allies in a friendly encounter on Wednesday.
The Porcupine Warriors proved to be daunting opponents to Inter Allies during their Wednesday’s friendly game at the Accra Sports Stadium as they smashed them 3-0 courtesy goals from Amos Frimpong, Naby Keita and Martin Antwi.
Ahead of the match, Inter Allies vowed to inflict defeat on Asante Kotoko like they did to their sworn adversaries Hearts of Oak after beating the Phobians to soil their 107th anniversary last month.
During an interview with Ohene Bampoe–Brenya on Happy FM‘s Anopa Bosuo Sports, Dr. Sarpong took aim at the Rainbow club claiming that they deserve adulation from their rivals after avenging their defeat against the ‘Eleven is to one’ lads.
“Hearts of Oak should call Kotoko CEO and congratulate us for beating Inter Allies. We did what they couldn’t do on their 107 anniversary match,” Mr. Sarpong stated on Happy FM.
“Yesterday’s match was a highly technical game. It’s been a while since I saw this level of tactic display.”
Asante Kotoko, who are Ghana’s sole representatives in Africa, are sharpening the rough edges ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round against Kenyan side Kariobangi Sharks.
Kotoko will continue their preparations on Sunday when they engage Ghana’s Olympic Team, the Black Meteors in a friendly match before enplaning to Kenya for the clash against Kariobangi Sharks in the Confederation Cup.
