Three demonstrators participating in the ongoing protest organized by the pressure organization Arise Ghana have been detained by the Ghana Police Service.
The three were allegedly detained because of their involvement in the tense atmosphere that has pervaded the protest.
The Police Officers were seen firing tear gas at the protesters in an attempt separate the crowd. The Kwame Nkrumah Interchange road has been shut down as a result, and neither people nor vehicles are moving.
Meanwhile, the Police have called for reinforcements to deal with the situation.
The tension, however, was revealed to have begun when the demonstrators began throwing stones at their cops.
The “behavior is inappropriate and must be denounced,” according to the Police.

What a shame, we were there to protect you and ensure your safety, but you throw stones at us, injure and hurt us.
This behaviour is unacceptable and must be condemned. pic.twitter.com/8FGeycExJD
