Annoh Dompreh vs Emeafa Hardcastle - Haruna Idrissu calls Emeafa Hardcastle to apologize

The Minister of Education and also the Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Idrissu has called on Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Commission, Emeafa Hardcastle, to render an unqualified apology to Frank Annoh Dompreh, minority Chief Whip for describing him as a silly person.

According to the legislato, the remarks of Emeafa directed at Annoh Dompreh were damaging to his reputation as a legitimately elected Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri Constituency.

Addressing the issue on the floor of parliament, Haruna Idrissu stated that dragging the issue to parliament will let the public and non- members of parliament know that the legislature has powers to discipline its members in accordance with Article 112 of the 1992 Constitution.

He also appealed to Frank Annoh Dompreh not to escalate the matter because Parliament will deal with it in an amicable way.

He made this statement after a verbal altercation ensued between Annoh Dompreh and Emeafa Hardcastle after the appointment committee recessed during the vetting of Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, the Minister-Designate for Defence.

As Frank Annoh-Dompreh was walking out of the room, Hardcastle allegedly made remarks including, “You are threatening me that you are taking me on because who are you? What do you mean by taking me on? You are a micro-minority. Doesn’t Afenyo-Markin himself use that phrase? I don’t have time for that. You think you can bully me here? ”

He responded by saying that he will take Emeafa on.
