Spokesperson for Movement for Change, Andrew Appiah Danquah has pledged to support the government’s fiscal consolidation efforts to enhance the sustainability of economic policies.

Appiah Danquah in a press conference on Tuesday February 18, 2025 emphasized the importance of reviewing existing government flagship programs to reduce financial exposure without discontinuing them.

This review, according to him, aims to make these programs more financially sustainable and efficient in the long run.

Appiah Danquah also highlighted the critical role of stabilizing the local currency in maintaining a healthy economy.

He called for the introduction of short-term policy interventions to address currency fluctuations while working towards robust medium to long-term solutions.

“while working towards a more robust and comprehensive medium to long-term solutions, particularly in the area of boosting exports and enhancing import substitution, the Ministry should introduce some short-term policy interventions”.
