The Fante politician who is fond of lacing his thoughts with jokes on radio and television has told the world he will defend the status of the Asantehene, Osei Tutu II as the only king in Ghana’s history, with his blood.
“My brother, apart from the Asantehene, we have no other king. I am telling you. He is the only one that must be revered.” Allotey told Happy FM.
He added that he will not sit down aloof for anybody to drag the image of the king into disrepute in relation to the alleged United Kingdom money laundering saga.
Mr. Allotey Jacobs, the Central Regional chairman of the main National Democratic Congress (NDC) was speaking on Happy FM’s the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show hosted by Kwame Afrifa Mensah in Accra.
He said with his experience in politics he has come to the realization that the Asantehene is the only king and all others are paramount chiefs in Ghana.
He further explained that in Ghana the only person in the chiefly reign that comes near Asantehene is the overload of Dagbon in the Northern Region and all others are sub chiefs and paramount chiefs.
He said the exploits of the king must be defended at all times to bring dignity to the country and not what is going on in the media the former Board member of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) said.
