All is set for the opening ceremony of the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Ghana.
The opening ceremony of the AWCON will be held in the Nation’s capital Accra Ghana on Saturday 17th November 2018.
The Black Queens of Ghana will open the tournament against their Algerian counterparts. FIFA referee Lidya Tafesse Abebe has however been appointed to officiate the 2018 AWCON opening fixture.
Hosts Ghana, Algeria, Mali and Cameroon will battle things out in Group A in Accra whiles Nigeria head Group B will contend with the Banyana Banyana of South Africa, Chipolopolo Queens of Zambia and Equatorial Guinea.
The tournament will be held in the Ghanaian cities of Accra and Cape Coast from 17 November to 1 December 2018 with the top three finishers will qualify to represent Africa at the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019.
The 2018 AWCON, officially known as the Total Women’s Africa Cup Of Nations, will be the 11th edition of the Africa Women Cup of Nations.
