Alfred Lamptey TKOs Kayumba to win WBO/WBC Youth titles

Ghana’s teenage boxer Alfred Lamptey knocked out Tanzania boxer iddi Kayumba in the 10th round to win both the WBO Youth junior lightweight and WBC Youth Silver Super Featherweight titles.

The boxing bout premiered on DSTV was held at the Bukom Boxing Arena as Lamptey dominated the fight from the first round.

Kayumba went down in the second round from a jab by Lamptey, but the Tanzanian was able to beat the count of referee Rager Banor’s to continue the game.

Kayumba refuse to succumb to the 19-year old till the final round, where he unleashed a combination of punches on the Tanzania boxer who had to fall on the ropes.

Referee Rodjer Banor had to stop the game in the 10th round as Kayumba’s leg was giving up on him.

The Bukom Bomber becomes a four-time boxing title holder having won both the West Africa Boxing Union (WABU) and Universal Boxing Organisation featherweight belts.

Lamptey defeated George Krampah at the same venue in March to defend the WABU and UBO belts.

The Bukom Bomber currently holds a record of seven knockouts in nine fights.
