Presidential candidate of the Movement for Change, Alan Kyerematen has assured Ghanaians that his administration will usher in peace and prosperity.
He emphasized that his leadership will offer a solution to the country’s deep-seated political divisions, which he believes have been aggravated by the rivalry between the two dominant parties, the NDC and the NPP.
He made this pledge during the Afrafranto Mega Victory Walk in Kumasi, which drew hundreds of thousands of participants and filled the streets with yellow, the movement’s signature color.
According to him, his victory would be a unifying force, as his government plans to include representatives from both parties, ensuring acceptance across political divides.
He outlined his vision of a government of national unity, designed to bridge the polarization between the NDC and NPP. This inclusive model aims to foster national peace and harmony by involving talents from both political sides in governance, ensuring no citizen feels excluded due to election outcomes.
He criticized the winner-takes-all system, pointing out how it has fueled corruption and deepened inequality in Ghana. He argued that the current system encourages those in power to consolidate wealth and influence, while those in opposition experience prolonged deprivation. This dynamic, he suggested, contributes to the political tensions witnessed during election periods.
His administration intends to replace this system with one that prioritizes national interests over party lines. Mr. Kyerematen believes that a more inclusive government will not only ensure fairness but also enhance governance by incorporating diverse perspectives.
He assured Ghanaians that his focus is on delivering peace and prosperity for all citizens, irrespective of their political affiliations. He called on Ghanaians to set aside their political differences and work together for the country’s development, emphasizing that peace is essential for sustainable progress.
