Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo has won the country’s national election, defeating President John Mahama, for the second time electoral commissioner Jean Mensa announced.

President Akufo-Addo defeated President Mahama by 51.59 percent to 47.46 percent, Jean Mensa said.
“It is my duty and my honour to declare Nana Akufo-Addo as the president-elect of Ghana,” she told a news conference in the capital, Accra, on Wednesday.
Prior to Jean Mensa’s announcement, the opposition leader John Dramani Mahama had said he will not accept the results of a flawed election.
