President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has commissioned a state of the art amusement and scenery park in Accra.

The Nationalism Park which is situated in the center of Accra, is a refurbished park in honor of Osu Alata Mantse, Nii Kwabena Bonnie. The restructuring of the park commenced in late 2023 and has finally seen its completion this year under the Akufo-Addo government, with many features that can give Ghanaians and visitors alike the opportunity to learn, reflect and and be inspired.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Monday, was joined by a number of state executives and officials of the Ministry For Tourism Arts and Culture and the Ghana Tourism Authority.

Deputy Minister for Tourism Arts and Culture, Mark Okraku Mantey touted the Nationalism Park as clear evidence of President Akufo Addo’s determination to transform infrastructure and tourist sites in Ghana.

Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Akwasi Agyeman appreciated the efforts of all bodies and individuals that took the initiative to make the refurbishment of the park possible.

He indicated that the Nationalism Park is a monument of Ghana’s history from the days of the execution of three ex-service men to independence and democracy. “Today we honor our heroes Nii Kwabena Bonnie, Sergent Adjetey, Corporal Attipoe and Private Odartey Lamptey and this place has been restructured and linked to the 28th February Memorial Park; it is a place where we can all come together as Ghanaians go reflect on our past and look forward to a brighter future full of opportunities.”

The Nationalism Park consists of a children’s playground, lighthouse souvenir shops, coffee shops washrooms, sitting areas, and restaurants.
