Family remembers Akua Donkor as a strong supporter and community advocate

Founder and leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Madam Akua Donkor, has reiterated her pledge to provide cars for journalists if elected president pf Ghana, bringing back a promise from her earlier campaigns. In an interview on the Happy Morning Show with Fati Shaibu-Ali, she underscored the vital role journalists play in Ghana’s development and argued that they deserve more support from the government. She emphasized that all presidential candidates should prioritize the welfare of journalists, who are essential for shaping public discourse.

“Journalists are the most important professionals in the country even more important than doctors and Members of Parliament (MPs),” Madam Akua Donkor asserted. She pointed out that while MPs receive vehicles and free fuel, journalists, who serve the public every day, are left without similar resources.
As she officially submitted her nomination forms to the Electoral Commission for the upcoming December elections, Madam Akua Donkor announced a significant update to her campaign team.

According to her after a journalist Adakabre Frimpong Manso declined the role of running mate due to his decision to ascend to a family throne as chief, she has again selected a journalist Kwabena Agyeman Appiah Kubi, popularly known as Roman Fada, as her new running mate.
By reintroducing her pledge to support journalists, Madam Akua Donkor aims to resonate with a crucial sector often overlooked by political leaders, underscoring her commitment to valuing the media’s role in Ghana’s democracy.
