Minister for Agriculture, Dr. Bryan Acheampong has proposed that, government should call for a national dialogue where discussions of the activities of mining would be discussed and a solution to fight the canker would be agreed upon.
‘’We need to have a national dialogue and agree on what needs to be done’’.
According to him, government alone cannot fight the galamsey menace, hence the need for national dialogue.
He however expressed worry on how the activities of illegal mining is greatly affecting crops, livelihoods, and water.
“Galamsey is an existential threat to livelihood, food and water”, he added.
