Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama has emphasized the critical role of peace and stability in fostering development and preparing Africa’s future leaders.

Speaking during his address at the ongoing African Union retreat on the implementation of institutional reforms, President Mahama highlighted the importance of strengthening the AU’s capacity to prevent, mediate, and resolve conflicts.

“Your excellencies, without peace there can be no development”.

President Mahama stressed the need to adequately resource the African Standby Force and leverage partnerships to address emerging threats such as terrorism, cybercrime, and climate-induced displacement.

“Indeed this is very important for us especially in west Africa considering the challenge we face from terrorism”.
