Former Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Vincent Oppong Asamoah has urged organizers of the 13th African Games to readily avail themselves for investigations if their hands are clean.
Ghana’s $200 million expenditure for the 13th African Games has raised questions with many urging the John Dramani Mahama administration to probe the $15 million spent on feeding.
Reacting to this in an interview with Ohene-Bampoe Brenya on Happy Sports, Vincent Oppong Asamoah said there would be a probe into the spending and if the organizers are clean, it will come out.
“Unfortunately I was not a Member of the Parliamentary Select Committee of Sports and I know the entire country was talking about the cost of the games and it’s a big worry.”
“I believe that if they have nothing to hide, then they don’t have to fear. They should only avail themselves for scrutiny and if they did their work well, we will put the matter to bed,” he said.
