African Games: Ghana’s Badminton contenders bow out of both Men’s and Women’s Singles

Ghana’s aspirations for success in the ongoing Badminton events at the African Games were shattered as both the men’s and women’s singles contenders faced defeat.

Rabiatu Ofoli, representing Ghana’s women’s team, fell to South African opponent Johanita in a 2-0 defeat during the round of 16.

Similarly, Leslie Nii Adote Addo, vying for victory in the men’s singles, came up short against South African Caden Kakora, also suffering a 2-0 loss.

With these defeats, Ghana’s chances of securing a medal has been dashed, along with the opportunity to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games scheduled for June.

Ghana will be hoping to punch above their weights in the Men’s and women’s doubles in subsequent days.
