Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has dismissed rumors suggesting he plans to run as an Independent Candidate or contest as MP for Keta in the Volta Region.
The clarification follows his donation of sewing machines and hair dryers in Tsiame, his hometown, as part of a women empowerment initiative.
In a statement addressing the rumors, Afenyo-Markin clarified that his actions were solely aimed at supporting the community and should not be misconstrued as political maneuvering.
“I remain committed to serving the people of Effutu and have no intention of running as an Independent Candidate or contesting in Keta. My recent donations were part of efforts to empower women in my hometown and have no political undertones,”.
