Ghana’s U-23 Coach Ibrahim Tanko has named his final 21-man squad for the upcoming Africa U-23 Cup of Nations to be staged in Egypt.
Tanko was able to secure the services of some key players who participated in the qualifiers for the tournament.
Missing out of the list due to their club’s unwillingness to release them are Joseph Paintsil(Genk), Dauda Mohammed, Nicholas Opoku and Bernard Tekpertey (Düsseldorf).
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Tanko has handed debut call ups to Evans Mensah (HJK, Finland), Frank Arhin (Dalkurd, Sweden), Robin Polley (Ado Den Hagg), Ropapa Mensah and Samuel Obeng.
The team is currently in camp with the invited foreign-based players expected to arrive by close of this week.
The team will depart to Egypt on Monday 4 November, 2019.
Ghana will open their campaign against Cameroon on 8 November, 2019 at the Cairo International Sports Stadium.
