Jordan Ayew’s early strike in the second half and Thomas Partey’s goal ensure Ghana’s triumph over Guinea-Bissau and booked them place in the last 16 of the competition.
Guinea Bissau, who could have gone through with a victory over Ghana, hit the woodwork three times.
Ghana finished the first 45 minutes as the best side with Guinea Bissau trying to soak up the pressure from the Black Stars even though they are unlucky not to have had a goal before the halftime whistle.
The Black Stars pressure finally paid off very early in the restart. Former Chelsea star Abdul Rahman Baba played a nice through ball from his own half with Eagles star Jordan Ayew bundled over the defender to put a wonderful strike to the far right corner of the post.
Ghana being at the summit of the group on goal difference will face Tunisia who is second in Group E after drawing with Madagascar.
Cameroon will face Nigeria in Alexandria whiles Ghana face Tunisia on Monday.
