
The Deputy Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator, Alhaji Alhassan Tapsoba has raised concerns over the struggles faced during fire fighting efforts at Adum.
The Fire which started around 6am spread rapidly as several shops got gutted.
According to Alhaji Tapsoba, there was enough water to help quench the fire but there was no access to the area
“We could have dealt with this in 30 minutes, but there’s no access.”
Alhaji Tapsoba further mentioned that, Firefighters struggled to navigate the congested market lanes, which delayed response efforts.
In addressing the crisis, Alhaji Tapsoba outlined a way forward, emphasizing the urgent need for urban planning reforms to prevent such disasters in the future.
He stressed that effective firefighting is not just about equipment but ensuring accessible routes.
